Category Configuration

dashboard-post-catCategory configuration allows you to control which bits of extra information (such as date, author, etc.) are displayed on posts in a category, both when viewed by itself, and when viewed with other posts in the same category.

To configure a category, go to Posts -> Categories. Look in the right column for the category you want to edit, then click its name (or the edit link below it that appears when you hover over the name). On the edit category page, scroll down until you see “Category Configuration Options”. The default settings are shown below.

Note: if a post is a member of multiple categories, with conflicting settings, it will use the settings from the first category it was put in.

Single post display

The category configuration options in the left column of Figure 1 control which bits of information are displayed when the post is viewed by itself. Below is a screenshot  of how a post would appear with the default configuration, which only shows the next/previous post navigation.

The category configuration options in the right column of Figure 1 control which bits of information are displayed when multiple posts are viewed at the same time, as a category.
