Page Redirect

Use this option If you need a page or a post to redirect to another URL. The content of this page/post will not be displayed to any visitors. In the page/post editing interface, scroll down until you see “Page Redirect” as shown below.

Enter a full URL starting with http:// in the text box, then click the blue “Update” button to save changes to your page.

To remove a page redirect, delete the URL from the text box, and update the page.

When would I use this?

  • You want to promote content on another website without duplicating it, but also want it to show up in a menu, slider, or some other widget on your site.
  • Use on a faculty profile to redirect to a faculty’s personal website.
  • You moved or renamed a page, and want people who go to the old URL to find the relocated content.
